1. Who we are
Solonic ("Solonic," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI native technology platform for cities. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we handle personal information across our platform and services ("Products and Services") and our website at solonic.co ("Site").
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Solonic handles personal information it collects when you visit our Site, contact us, or use our Products and Services. Solonic acts as the party responsible ("Controller") for the limited personal information it collects for its own purposes, such as information from our Site and event inquiries and the user accounts of the customers and their operator personnel who use our Products and Services. This Policy does not apply to the data that our customers provide to us as part of the Products and Services, upload to our platform to use the Products and Services, or process using the Products and Services ("Customer Data"). Our customers own that data and handle it under their own privacy policies and their agreements with us, and we process it on their behalf in accordance with the terms of such agreements. Your use of our Products and Services is also governed by the applicable agreement(s) between Solonic and the customer that authorized your access.
3. Information we collect
We collect personal information in the following ways:
A. Information You Provide to Us Directly. We collect information you give us directly, for example when you: (i) meet or correspond with us at conferences, trade shows, and other events or through phone calls and conference calls, including virtual voice or video calls; or (ii) contact us through the Site or by email or chat function, in which case we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
B. Information Collected Automatically. When authorized users create an account and use our Products and Services, we collect information such as names, email addresses and phone numbers, and automatically generate activity and audit logs (for example, which user took an action and when) to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
C. Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. We may collect personal information from individuals and third parties to assess and pursue potential business opportunities.
4. How we collect information
We collect the information described in Section 3 directly from you, automatically through authorized use of our Products and Services, from individuals and third parties through our business development and strategic partnership activities, and from our customers in the form of Customer Data. Our public Site does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies (see Section 8).
5. How we use information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
A. Provide Our Services. To operate, deliver, maintain, and improve our Products and Services, to authenticate and administer user accounts and permissions, and to provide customer support.
B. Administrative Purposes. To secure our Products and Services, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, monitor performance and reliability, and pursue our legitimate business interests such as research, product development, and quality control.
C. Legal and Contractual Obligations. To comply with applicable laws, regulations and legal processes, enforce our agreements, and meet our contractual commitments to our customers.
D. Other Purposes. To respond to your inquiries and support requests, communicate with you about our Products and Services, and for other purposes with your consent.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. How we share or disclose information
We disclose personal information as described below:
A. Disclosures to Provide our Services. To service providers and sub-processors that help us operate our Products and Services, limited to what they need, for example, cloud hosting and database providers, mapping providers, and providers that support our AI features. These providers are bound to protect the information.
B. Disclosures for Legal Reasons. To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable government requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and properties of Solonic or others.
C. Disclosure in the Event of Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Data we process on behalf of a customer is disclosed only as that customer directs or as our agreement with them allows. We may also create and use aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify any individual, for example, to analyze usage and improve our Products and Services, and we may share such information.
7. Artificial intelligence features
Our Products and Services include AI-assisted features. When an authorized user utilizes our Products and Services, their inputs and related operational contexts are processed by our platform and/or our AI service providers. We may retain and utilize such inputs, contexts and related actions or responses, if any, to operate and improve the Products and Services. We do not permit our AI providers to use customer or personal data to train their general models except as needed to provide and improve the Products and Services.
8. Cookies and tracking technologies
Our public Site does not use cookies, web beacons, pixels, analytics, or advertising/tracking technologies, and does not track you across other websites. Our Products and Services may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in and operate the service.
9. Data security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, and logical separation of each customer's data. Our Products and Services run on established cloud infrastructure, using managed databases and serverless compute, with access limited to authorized personnel. As a growing company, our safeguards are scaled to our size and we continue to strengthen them.
10. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Products and Services and for our legitimate business and legal purposes. Data we process on behalf of a customer is retained and deleted as set out in our agreement with that customer.
11. Your privacy rights and choices
For personal information Solonic is responsible for, you may ask us to access or delete it by contacting us at the address in Section 16. We will endeavor to accommodate such requests in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy and other applicable laws and regulations.
12. State and international privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under, among other applicable laws and regulations, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), other U.S. state privacy laws, or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, such as the right to know, access, correct, delete, or port information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To the extent these laws apply to information we control, you may exercise them by emailing us (Section 16). We do not sell or "share" personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are defined under these laws.
13. Children's privacy
Our Site and Products and Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
14. Third-party links
Our Site may link to other websites whose privacy practices we do not control; we encourage you to read and understand their policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time in our sole discretion. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the updated Policy on this page. If there are any material changes to the Policy, we will notify you as required by applicable laws. You understand and agree that you will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy if you continue to use our Services after the new Privacy Policy takes effect.
